Office

In a hallway, there will be a door to the office. The office is where I will go to get work done. This could be anything related to the realty company, the other businesses, or even the household budget. Because of this, I will need things to be quiet, with a focus on the music I will listen to while working. The office will have a small closet, and a safe. The safe is to hold things like checks, business debit cards, and anything else that should not be out in the open for temptation to steal if someone broke into the penthouse. The office door automatically locks, which will make the penthouse less of a target.

Against one of the walls will be a Xerox Commercial Grade Multi-function center. This is tall standing at about 4 feet (about 1.3 meters) off the ground. The system will handle copies, faxes, prints, and scans. Since I will be pushing for a digital office, I will likely not need the fax component, but will have it setup nonetheless. This will likely mean I will need a Grandstream HT 801+ which is a single line ATA?. This will be used as little as possible though. The ATA will connect to my home network. If PCS 1 exists, I will use them for my fax capable line since their eFax system will provide for communicating. PCS 1 will have a feature where there could be an eFax line that would be a voicemail box for callers. This carrier will support all of my personal lines as defined by the Ideal Phone Setup. The printer will have 4 paper trays, and an ADF. The ADF will likely be used for scanning documents into a file that would be placed in the appropriate place on the business or personal network. There will be 4 paper trays. Trays 1-2 will be standard US sized paper. Trays 3-4 will be US business class 10 envelopes. When I wish to type a letter, I will print out both the letter, and the envelope. In the event that I have to use a mailer envelope, then I will use a Dymo Label Printer. This might require a particular OS?, and if that is the case, I will have a virtual machine for those particular programs. If Senitrus exist, I will buy their notebook, and their OS will support emulation for Windows programs out of the box. This will be done through the Window Panes feature.

The desk will have a number of items that would be important. First, there will be a Thunderbolt dock. This will connect directly to the network so wifi? is not necessary. The desk will assume that I will be using a notebook PC which will likely be the case. I will already have a monitor, keyboard, and touchpad. I will have a second 24″ PC monitor in case I need to show someone my screen, then mirroring will be in place. The home office will have a lamp in case it is needed. Telephony communications will be required. If Senitrus exists, I will have a Phone-W for the office phone which will handle all of my business, lines. This will be through 2 incoming/outgoing lines, + 8 incoming lines. If Senitrus does not exist, then I will acquire a 16″ MacBook Pro, and a Grandstream GXP 2170. This phone will support 12 lines, and 6 accounts. I will assume a line to be internal whereas a SIP? account is external. To make this work out, the Realty company will have account 1. The other businesses will have account 2. Since I won’t carry the role of a telephone receptionist, I will not be transferring callers to other people since I am one of those people that the receptionist will send calls to. As mentioned, there will be 6 accounts. This will be as follows:

  1. 0377: Realty
  2. 0301: Other Businesses
  3. 4201: Home Line
  4. 9751: Personal Line
  5. IPS 412: Personal Line

As with the great room, the walls will be black. This is because black is my favorite color, and on days where I will have to work remotely, I will be here from 7:30AM – 4:30PM accepting and making calls. This will be essential that my desk phone acts as closely to the realty’s office phone line will be. I will keep the house line in the great room unless I am expecting an important call. The same will go for my other lines, and the focus will be on work lines.
